a lot of "progressive" ndp types (and that is the most sincere use of the "" youll ever encounter on the entire damn internet) are quick to post on racist or other discriminatory comments made by conservatives, liberals, bloquistes, etc.  in the case of exposing liberal bigotry, the dipper takes particular delight as screaming "OMG THEYRE JUST LIKE THE CONSERVATIVES" is still considered a viable campaign tactic. 

yeah, this post is going to be somewhat of a cheapshot at the ndp. no, i dont honestly believe a party should be judged by its tards on the internets.  its just that i have a special kind of disdain for the ndp due to their belief that their party is uniquely equipped to make liberal democracy socially just and equitable.  the fact this party has its roots in critiques of democracy is lost on most of the members, or deemed irrelevant. im not saying all moderate interpretations of socialism are de facto totally bunk - im saying that the dippers need to be more honest about the limits that global capitalism is going to place on their governance.

to the rabble's credit, a poster did confront him on the stupidity and ignorance, but the poster also speicified that he wasnt going to call jeffhouse racist, which is a pity, since this is totally racist. 

assuming stuff about korean and chinese heritage without knowing shit is racist.  it's racist because the act of assuming like that proceeds from a system where privileged people didnt think they needed to know history or background before spouting declarations out of their asses. 

referencing "ethnic solidarity" in a conspiratorial way is also racist.  why do accusations of an ethnic voting bloc happen at a greater rate than accusations of a white voting bloc?  racism, man.  people dont even think about the existence of a white voting bloc because people think white is the default.  the only white voting bloc ive seen referenced conspiratorially was that of the christian right (and theyre not all white anyway).

and im not particularly excited to hear any of this "oh noes, racism only happens when people get killed, what about freedom of speech" crap.  freedom of speech is great, i give it an a+.  what im giving you is the benefit of a steaming, hot cup of stfu - sometimes it takes a while to learn that what you have been trained to see as harmless statements actually say stuff about your worldview and everyones place in it.  i believe in self-reflexive action - people should constantly think about what theyre doing while doing it.
